Our generation and by extension our group of friends has
been blessed with the ability to communicate and form stronger bonds with one another thanks in
part to technology. It has allowed us to travel the globe, live in other
countries and still remain connected through different platforms. Some of us
have the luxury of office jobs that afford us a little more downtime and allow
us to communicate and entertain each other using various means.
Back in 2006 we turned our attention to a certain blog
that detailed the adventures of a special couple as they traveled the world
together and shared their experiences with anyone willing to listen. Those
comments on Mulloskey’s Adventures Abroad helped spawn the creation of this
particular blog and ultimately Lunch Email TM. It was an outlet for us to
connect to you from afar and show you we were invested in your lives and the
adventures you chose to pursue. It also gave us something to talk about with
one another as we lived vicariously through your experiences. Even when you’re
on the other side of the world, you are still bringing us together.
This blog doesn’t generate as much traffic as it once used
to. We’ve become a little busier at work. We’ve started our own families and
the time we have to devote to such endeavours has diminished. But as our lives
and relationships have evolved and time has become more precious, two things
have become increasingly clear – our commitment and support for one another
couldn’t be stronger…and our worlds are a little bit brighter when Mulloskey’s
are home. Every one of us admired your courage and sense of adventure, but your annual homecoming is a celebrated moment in all of our lives that gives us
an excuse to get together and remember how much we cherish each other’s
company.
As you both embark on the ultimate adventure, we wanted to
remind you now, more than ever, how much you are missed. With that end in mind,
we’ve put together a little something to show you our appreciation for
everything you’ve done for us over the years. For always putting us ahead of
yourselves and for being good people that we all fight to spend time with when
you’re on home soil - this is a small token of our support and friendship.
Thank you for, once again, bringing us together and giving
us something to look forward to upon your return. We all look forward to the
most memorable homecoming yet.
We hope this blog post finds you, and finds you well.
Your Friends,
Everyone

Dear little Mulloskey,
It seems appropriate that you are being born into the world in an adventurous way! You have so many that look forward to you enhancing our pack and brightening our world's the moment we get to see you in person! Love, Doug and Jess and Adele.

A little sappy Dyson but definitely some of your better work. Well done.
Dear baby Mulloskey,
We are so excited to meet you! Way to one up Max, being BORN in china definately trumps being half Chinese and is a waaaay better story. Can't wait to give you a million hugs and kisses.
Hi Sean and Erin!
Dear mini-Mulloskey,
Get ready for a wonderful life filled with so much love laughter and fun. Your parents have truly unique abilities to both bring people together and bring out the best in them. You will feel their love every day and will learn so easily what it takes to build healthy long-lasting relationships. And you will eat unbelievably delicious food. Mulloskeys make the world a better place, hooray for more of them!
Just for the record I didn't write this. I did actually come up with the idea for this and everything else, and handed it off to Lunan to sap it up.
To the new kid, whenever you end up reading this and whatever your name ends up being: just remember your parents were at one time some pretty cool cats. The stories they tell you may seem like fiction, but they an be verified from the Internet (which is always correct), and from many photoshopped photos. Just remember, when this was written that old singer Bieber was just a kid and not yet the greatest musical talent of the past 100 years, the Leafs had not yet gone on their run of 7 Stanley Cups in 10 years, and your Dad had long hair.
AND, your Uncle Brook is the coolest of all the Uncles. It's science.
Greetings from half a world away. And welcome to the world little Mulloskey, you won the lottery and the grand prize of having two of the finest parents a kid could ever hope for. We look forward to meeting you and also having our dearest friends back in the same time zone as us... all in good time!
Some words of advice as you grow up under the care of your parents:
Not everything your dad tells you or wants to show you can possibly be "the best ever". Most things will be awesome but humour him in any event, he's very enthusiastic and just wants to share "good times' with you.
Whatever crazy situations you may find yourself in through life, your mother most likely has a story to top yours of a completely improbable predicament that she somehow managed to stumble upon. Make sure to ask about these war stories, she has much wisdom (and laughs) to share.
Life with your parents will inevitably never be dull. Adventure is in their blood and with any luck it will be in yours too. We expect nothing but greatness in your life.
See you soon!
Much love,
Shaun, Cat, Indi, and soon to be +1
Mini Sean and Erin, Erin and Sean,
The world is excited for your new team member to come. Based on the creators this is going to be one amazing/interesting kid. We can't wait to meet the Mulloskey creation.
By the way, these are the worst DML posts I have ever read.
All the best,
Pat and Heather
Dear Baby Mulloskey,
Seems like everything is being Made in China these days.
You couldn't possibly have picked a better pair of people to born to. I have no doubt that you'll have a life full of love (good), happiness (good), Phish (bad), political objections (good), Fluffernutter (bad), very little facial/body hair (good - trust me), and people who love you and would do anything for you (very good).
Best of luck and safe travels in the coming weeks to you and your parents. And while you might spend the ages of 10-18 being completely embarrassed by your father (your mom will always be cool) - please know that your patience with his eternal happiness will pay off dividends. The world needs more of it.
Lots of love,
Mike, Heather, Evelyn, and James
Ta Da!! You're Chinese!! What?
We are ridiculously excited for you both. You will be outstanding parents! We look so forward to meeting the new addition to the Mulloskey family when you arrive home...which, by the way, won't be soon enough.
All our love,
Matty, Chrissy & Grey
